SOCCER

Premier League side Bournemouth have sacked their head coach Scott Parker.

The Cherries won their opening game of the season against Aston Villa, but then lost 4-0 to Manchester City, 3-0 to Arsenal and 9-0 to Liverpool last weekend.

Parker guided Bournemouth to promotion from the Championship last season.

Gary O'Neil has been put in charge on an interim basis.

In the Premier League tonight there are four games.

Crystal Palace face Brentford and Fulham take on Brighton - games kick-off at 7.30pm.

Southampton play Chelsea at 7.45pm.

Leeds versus Everton at Elland Road from 8pm.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Ajax for Antony, in a deal thought to be worth £86 million.

The forward's move to Old Trafford is subject to him passing a medical, finalising personal terms and international clearance being granted.

He's scored two goals in nine appearances for Brazil.

TENNIS

Serena Williams has won her first round match at the US Open - in what will be her final Grand Slam event.

The 40 year-old beat Danka Kovinic (pr: Kov-in-itch)  came through in straight sets, and will now face Anetta Kontaveit of Estonia in the second round.

Wimbledon men's singles runner up Nick Kyrgios has won his first round match, beating Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight sets.

Rafael Nadal is in action later against Rinky Hijikata.

Carlos Alcaraz will play Sebastian Baez.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will begin the defence of her women's singles title against Alize Cornet.
