Wolves have parted company with manager Julen Lopetegui just days before the start of the new Premier League season.

The Spaniard departs Molineux after nine months in charge.

Lopetegui was understood to be frustrated with a lack of new signings this summer.

Former Bournemouth boss, Gary O'Neil, is expected to be appointed as his successor.

Wolves' first game of the new campaign is away to Manchester United on Monday evening.

Gillingham caused the shock of the night in the first round of the EFL Cup as they knocked out Southampton.

The League Two side were 3-1 winners against their Championship opponents.

Arsenal are expected to finalise a deal to sign goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford today.

The Spaniard is in the final year of his contract at the London club and a deal worth in the region of 35-million euro has been agreed.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank says they've been expecting Raya to move on all summer.

GAELIC GAMES

Brian Dooher and Fergal Logan have been handed a new term in charge of the Tyrone senior footballers.

The pair signed a three year deal. at a county board meeting last night.

Dooher and Logan succeeded Mickey Harte in late 2020 - and guided Tyrone to the All-Ireland title the following year.

Their All-Ireland campaign came to an end this season at the quarter-final stage, where they lost to Kerry.
