GAA

The Kildare minor footballers began their Electric Ireland minor football championship last night away to Laois in O'Moore Park.

The final score was Kildare 1-12 Laois 0-9

It's the turn of the U.20 footballers tonight.

They play Wicklow in the Fulfil U20 championship in An Tochar GAA at 7.30pm.

Kfm will have live updates with Ger McNally.

Wexford play Dublin

Westmeath host Louth.

Longford go to Laois, and Carlow host Meath.

SOCCER

Mohamed Salah has thanked Liverpool fans after announcing he'll leave the club at the end of the season.

The 33-year old has scored 255 goals in 435 games since joining from Roma in 2017, winning two Premier Leagues and a Champions League.

He says Anfield will "always be home".

 

The Republic of Ireland squad will continue their preparations today on the eve of their World Cup playoff semi-final against Czechia.

The team will train in the Fortuna Arena, the venue for tomorrow's massive qualifier in Prague.

 

Arsenal will take a 3-1 advantage into the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea next week.

Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe provided the assist for the Gunners' opening goal at the Emirates Stadium last night.

Tonight, Manchester United welcome Bayern Munich to Old Trafford, for the first leg of their last-eight tie from 8.

 

ATHLETICS

Kate O'Connor says she expects more from herself in the future, starting with the Europeans this summer.

She secured a second world medal by claiming bronze in the women's pentathlon at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Poland on Sunday.

 

GOLF

World Number One Scottie Scheffler has withdrawn from this Houston Open on the PGA Tour, with his wife expecting their second child.

Another withdrawal has seen Waterford's S�amus Power added to the field, joining Shane Lowry among the pack for tomorrow's opening round in Texas.

 

RACING

Former Champion Hurdler Constitution Hill takes another step in his new career on the flat this evening.

The Nicky Henderson-trained nine-year-old will get a run out in the Novice Stakes at Kempton.

Henderson says the ten-time hurdle winner could yet compete in some of the major flat races this summer.
