Frank Taaffe is a Kilkenny man exiled in Kildare He’s spent decades researching and writing the local history of Athy.

For 30 years, he’s been writing of Athy and its people in his weekly Eye on Athy column for the Kildare Nationalist. He’s also published four books of these articles, titled “Eye on Athy”.

Frank founded Athy’s museum, is a co-founder of Athy’s Art Centre and he is chairman of Athy’s Heritage company.
