Sallins, Castledermot, Ballitore, Kilcock, Monasterevin & Rathangan
6 towns & villages in Co. Kildare will receive funding, as part of the Streetscape Enhancement Initiative.
Grants of up to €8,000, are available for property owners, to "improve street facades (either residential or commercial) and shopfronts."
The scheme applies to Sallins, Castledermot, Ballitore, Kilcock, Monasterevin and Rathangan.
In temrs of funding distribution, Co. Kildare is in Band A, with Cork, Donegal, Limerick City & County, Meath, Galway, Clare, Tipperary, Wicklow, meaning those counties will receive €320,000.
The scheme is part of 'Our Rural Future' & is designed to make rural towns and villages more attractive places to live, work & visit.
124 towns & villages nationwide, will benefit from the scheme.
In neighbouring Wicklow, Baltinglass town centre & Blessington will receive funding, as will Arklow, Enniskerry Village Centre, Kilcoole & Wicklow town.
In Carlow, Rathvilly, Leighlinbridge, Bagenalstown & Tullow were selected.
As were Laois' Mountrath, Mountmellick, Rathdowney, Ballinakill & Ballylinan.
