ALONE is seeking volunteers for its Support and Befriending services in Kildare, as demand continues to grow.
The organisation says many older people in the county are experiencing loneliness and isolation, with volunteers providing companionship, practical support and regular contact.
Last year, ALONE supported almost 46,500 older people nationwide, with nearly half reporting feelings of loneliness.
Its CEO says just one hour of volunteering a week can make a life-changing difference, helping older people stay connected and age well at home.
Volunteering is flexible, involves regular calls or visits, and surveys show it reduces loneliness while benefiting volunteers and communities.
If you would like to volunteer or learn more, visit www.alone.ie/volunteer or call 0818 222 024.
