A local councillor is appealing for information after fire damage was caused to Monread park.
A number of objects were seemingly set alight and has damaged one of the pitches as a result.
Speaking to Kfm News, Independent Ireland Councillor for Naas MD Bill Clear described the perpetrators as "idiots".
"There was damage done to Monread park by some idiots who decided to pull a load of bins and rubbish together into the middle of the pitch and set fire to them.
"[It's] really bad damage to the pitch and it's going to make it really difficult for teams to play matches now."
Cllr Clear added that he has reported the incident to Gardaí.
He said that efforts have been made "to keep Monread park away from anti-social behaviour for a long time " and that "we don't accept this".
Concerns have been raised about further incidents in the lead up to Halloween, with Clear assuring that Gardaí will be in Monread park during the period patrolling, and any sign of a bonfire will be "removed immediately".
Gardaí have been contacted for a comment in relation to this situation.
