A number of fish were found dead in the river in Kill village
The pollution has been caused by bleach, according to Kildare County Council Environment section.
According to Fine Gael Cllr. Fintan Brett the bleach was poured down a manhole in the Glendara estate.
The council has advised that "bleach should never be put into the surface water system."
