A bus driver carrying 40 passengers who failed to stop for Naas Gardaí claimed they were unaware of being pursued because they were distracted by a phone call.
Naas Gardaí were recently conducting patrols in the area when they attempted to pull over the bus.
Despite their efforts, the driver did not stop, prompting a Garda pursuit that lasted over five kilometres.

The driver received three penalty points and a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice for distracted driving.
“Professional drivers have a duty to uphold the highest standards of road safety,” said a Garda spokesperson.
They added: “Distractions behind the wheel, especially mobile phone use, can have devastating consequences. What makes it even more concerning was that the vehicle was carrying 40 passengers."
