The Banner Exhibition, titled 'Portraits of the Invisible', explores the experiences of Irish servicemen, medics, nurses and non-combatants in the First World War
The National Library of Ireland (NLI) has announced that Castletown House in Celbridge will host one of its travelling banner photographic exhibitions as part of the official Cultural Programme for Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The photographic banner exhibition features a curated selection of images from part of NLI’s extensive national collections for touring and will be free for the public to visit.
The Banner Exhibition, titled 'Portraits of the Invisible', explores the experiences of Irish servicemen, medics, nurses and non-combatants in the First World War (1914-1918) through a series of portrait photographs.
The banner exhibition will run from Tuesday, 18th August until Wednesday, 30th September 2026 at Castletown House.
