Charlie Talbot, A Longtime Kildare County Council Spokesperson, Has Died

The Kilcullen resident spent 43 years with the council, joining them 19 months after leaving school.

The death has been announced of former Kildare County Council official Charlie Talbot.

The Kilcullen resident spent 43 years with the council, joining them 19 months after leaving school.

Following a stint working in the GPO, he spent many years as the council's spokesperson, liaising with the media and officiating at election counts.

Charlie retired on March 11, 2011.

Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
