Concerns remain over vacant and deteriorating housing at Curragh Camp, with a procurement process for improvement works not expected to begin until later this year.
Concerns are continuing over the condition of vacant and derelict housing at the Curragh Camp.
Plans are now in place to improve the housing stock and increase accommodation for serving Defence Forces personnel, with a procurement process expected to begin this year.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Labour TD for Kildare South, Mark Wall, said progress has been too slow, that many homes remain empty despite the wider housing shortage and high rental costs across the county.
He said the issue has been raised repeatedly with the Department of Defence and called for a clearer timeline for the planned works.
Wall also discussed the ongoing issue of illegal encampments on the Curragh Plains.
