Maynooth University President Eeva Leinonen updated Councillors yesterday
Maynooth University President Eeva Leinonen has confirmed to county councillors that discussions have been taking place between the University and Kildare County Council about re-opening the college swimming pool.
Currently, there is no swimming pool in the north of the county, however an application for funding to the Government has been made.
In the interim, a feasibility study is being done to look at access and egress at the Maynooth University pool, with a view to potentially re-opening it.
Labour Cllr. Angela Feeney, who asked the President for the update, says this is a step in the right direction.
