That's according to new research carried out among 500 people surveyed for anti-piracy organisation BeStreamWise.
According to the research, people who use illegal streaming are more likely to lose six times more money in scams.

Last year, Ciaran Donovan, from Ashfield, Kildare Town, was sentenced to 16 months in prison for operating King Kong Media, which provided illegal TV streaming by selling access codes for pay TV channels like Sky Sports and BT Sports.
He made over €900,000 in proceeds from the business.
