The development is proposed on a site in Leixlip.
An extension of the lifetime of planning permission for a solar farm in Kildare is being sought.
Solas Éireann already has leave to install 30,100 photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames on a 12 hectare site in Confey, Leixlip.
That permission is close to withering, and it has asked Kildare County Council to extend it.
A decision is due on December 6th.

Extension of duration of Planning Ref. No. 16/777 - the development of a solar PV panel array with an export capacity of 7.8MW comprising approximately 30,100 photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames within a site area of 12.10 hectares, 6 no. single storey MV substations, 1 no. single storey DSO substation, 1 no. single storey customer substation, 1 no. single storey spares building, 1 no. communications pole, boundary security fencing, CCTV, associated electrical cabling and ducting, alteration to existing entrance to include access gates and all associated ancillary development works
