Aubrey McCarthy was elected a few days ago
The final elected seats to the Seanad have been filled following 6 days of counting.
Independent Eileen Flynn, Sinn Fein’s Nicole Ryan and Fianna Fail candidates Fiona O’Loughlin and Diarmuid Wilson won four Seanad seats as the counting of votes in the vocational panels completed.
Fiona O’Loughlin has served as a Senator for the last 5 years and will take her seat on the Administrative Panel for the next 5.
Punchestown’s Aubrey McCarthy was elected in the Dublin University/Trinity College constituency.
Independent Cathal Berry, Labour’s Angela Feeney, Fianna Fail’s Rob Power and Fine Gael’s Tim Durkan all missed out.
There are still 11 more seats to be filled as Taoiseach Micheal Martin chooses his nominations, expected largely to consist of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael candidates, however sources have told Kfm that Cathal Berry may be in contention.
