In 2022, Moody had been jailed for three years and three months for subjecting his ex-girlfriend to what was described as over three years of 'absolute hell.'
A former garda has appeared in court charged with multiple counts of harassment, intimidation, and demanding money from a woman, according to the Sunday Independent.
44-year-old Paul Moody, with a previous address at St. Raphael's Manor, Celbridge, appeared via video link in the Circuit Criminal Court charged with five alleged offences against a woman between 2016 and 2017.
Moody pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal to coercively controlling his ex-girlfriend over a three-a-half-year period.
According to court records, he is due to be arraigned on January 14th next in relation to these offences.
Moody’s video link appearance on Thursday was his first in the circuit criminal court on these charges.
No trial date has been set, and Moody is yet to enter a plea.
Moody was featured in the RTÉ documentary 'Taking Back Control' in 2023, in which Nicola Hanney spoke about the abuse she endured at the hands of Moody.
