Kildare County Council says bus stop and shelter upgrades are progressing across the Kildare–Newbridge Municipal District.
In response to a question from Social Democrats Cllr Pat Balfe, the council confirmed works are underway on Local Link routes 821 and 880, including upgrades at six bus stops.
A further three stops, at Suncroft and Grey Abbey, are included in a separate package that was tendered late last year.
Four new bus shelters are planned for Athgarvan and Maddenstown, subject to delivery by the National Transport Authority, while a public consultation on a proposed shelter at Brownstown is due to begin in the coming months.
The council says 25 additional stop locations on Local Link Route 888 are also under review, subject to available resources.
