Protests are continuing in relation to the price of fuel, following a recent support scheme announced by government
Protests have started around the county in relation to the price of fuel.
The M7/M9 between Junction 4 Carlow (North) and Kilcullen was closed earlier today, but has since reopened.
There is also congestion between Junction 4 Rathcoole and Junction 5 Athgoe, with a convoy moving southbound.
The Cabinet's yesterday announced a €505million support scheme which sees the cost of a litre of petrol or diesel cut by 10c from midnight on Tuesday, with Carbon Tax increases also deferred.
It comes as two of the country's main fuel depots will be at full operational capacity again today, after a six day blockade.
Hundreds of garages ran dry during nationwide protests over fuel prices last week.
Dublin's O'Connell Street has been fully re-opened.
It comes just a day after tractors, lorries and trucks blocking the street were moved along by the Garda Public Order Unit.
Luas and Dublin Bus services are back operating as normal.
