Its in response to complaints about anti-social behaviour.
Gardai will be concentrating on policing of Poplar Square in Naas, following complaints about anti-social behaviour.
Kildare County Council created an outdoor socialising space at Poplar Square in the summer, with a €170,000 grant.
Since then, residents have frequently complained of late night noise, large volumes of food and drink litter, and public urination.
Fine Gael Cllr. Fintan Brett is Chair of the Kildare Joint Policing Committee, and has been speaking with Gardai on the matter.
On Kildare Today, he says there will an increased presence in the square this weekend.
Cllr. Brett joined Eoin Beatty and Clem Ryan on Thursday's edition of the programme, and also discussed his motions before the September meeting of the Naas Municipal District.
We’ll be returning to this issue on tomorrow morning’s #KildareToday programme. We’ll also hear concerns from #Sallins residents regarding outdoor dining and the lack of parking facilities in the town. https://t.co/zIjbhmjPtY
