Gardaí should be equipped with scrambler bikes as part of their fleet to tackle dangerous and illegal use on public roads.
That’s according to John Joe O’Connell, the Kildare representative of the Garda Representative Association, who says Gardaí need proper resources, training and specialist equipment to deal with the problem effectively.

The issue has come under renewed focus following the death of 16-year-old Grace Lynch, who was struck by a scrambler bike while using a pedestrian crossing in Finglas last month.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Garda O’Connell says need the right tools, training and resources to tackle the issue.
