Tánaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris TD, as well as Cathaoirleach of the County of Kildare, Cllr Carmel Kelly were in attendance for the launch
Ireland's first age and climate-friendly village has been launched in Ballymore Eustace.
Tánaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris TD, as well as Cathaoirleach of the County of Kildare, Cllr Carmel Kelly were in attendance for the launch.
Ballymore Eustace was selected for the initiative, following the 2016 Census, due to the high proportion of older residents compared to other parts of the county.

Extensive works to the village have allowed older people and people with disabilities to participate in village life and enjoy shared outdoor spaces.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Cathaoirleach and Councillor for Naas LEA Carmel Kelly said that she couldn't think of a more perfect place for the launch.
"I think all of our towns and villages need to be not just age-friendly, but disability-friendly, family-friendly, and this is a start, so I'm delighted this is happening today."
