These strong results come as the industry prepares to celebrate World Radio Day tomorrow (13 February).
The latest Ipsos/MRBI Joint National Listenership Research Report covering the period from January to December 2025 shows almost 3.5 million adults tune into radio each weekday. 78% of adults listen to radio each weekday, while 90% of adults listen every week.
These strong results come as the industry prepares to celebrate World Radio Day tomorrow (13 February).
Ciarán Cunningham, CEO of Radiocentre Ireland, said: “These incredibly strong results highlight the unique power of radio to connect communities, and deliver real impact for audiences and advertisers alike.”
Kfm has maintained its No1 listenership position in the county, ahead of all national, regional and other locals, including Dublin local stations heard in the Kildare franchise area.
The research, also, reveals that Kfm listeners listen for longer periods each day, which is a key metric for advertisers to maximise exposure of their brand.
Among today’s research findings is that Kfm’s main lunchtime 1pm News is now the most listened to News programme in the county, ahead of all other stations.
Kfm CEO Clem Ryan said: “This latest research is a major reflection of Kfm where advertisers can appeal directly to their target customers in real time.“
He added: "A special thank-you to the Kfm listeners and advertisers for their loyalty, and to Kfm staff for their professionalism and hard work."
