A number of burglaries occurred throughout Kildare in the past week
Gardaí are warning Kildare residents to be extra vigilant of burglaries as the darker evenings close in.
Four burglaries were reported to have occurred in the county in the past week.
The first incident occurred Wednesday last, between 7pm-7.30pm in the Grey Abbey View estate in Kildare Town.
It was reported that the injured party came home to find entry was gained via the backdoor, where glass had been broken.
The house was ransacked, and a substantial amount of jewellery was stolen, as well as some cash.

The second burglary also took place Wednesday last in Killina, Carbury, around 9pm, where the owners of a house came back to find entry was gained via the back door.
Rooms were ransacked, and entry was almost made into a smaller living quarters at the property.

A third burglary occurred between Monday night into the early hours of Tuesday morning, in the Russellstown area of Athy.
Entry was gained through a rear bedroom window, which lead to the front door being unlocked by the suspects.
Jewellery was taken, and a CCTV hard drive was removed from the house.
However, in house-to-house enquiries, CCTV from the area has provided gardaí with strong evidence.
Gardaí are still urging those with information to contact Athy gardaí on 059 863 4210.
The last burglary occurred last night at a cottage in Broadford, between 10.45pm-11.30pm.
The injured party returned home to find the front door was forced open, and similar to the other burglaries, the house was ransacked and jewellery and cash was taken.
CCTV cameras within the house were found to be interfered with.
