It comes as he met with a number of tech company representatives at the Vodafone headquarters in Dublin today.
The forum comes amid growing recognition that the pace of AI adoption is accelerating faster than workforce preparedness across many sectors.
Minister Lawless was speaking at ‘AI Workforce Readiness’, bringing together leaders from industry, government and education to examine emerging skills gaps, system challenges and ongoing policy responses.
This morning’s discussion is said to hopefully inform ongoing Government efforts to strengthen skills across priority sectors, in the context of rapid change across Ireland’s economy and skills landscape.
Further sector-focused roundtables will be convened in the coming months, with professional services scheduled next.
