Speaking on this morning's Kildare Today, Dervla Hynes spoke on her breast cancer diagnosis and the future in her recovery
Speaking on this morning's Kildare Today, Naas woman Dervla Hynes has been treated for breast cancer, undergone a mastectomy, recovered to model in a fundraising fashion show and will now lead a 5km charity run in April.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2023, Dervla underwent a mastectomy and reconstruction the following September.
In the past few weeks, she has inspired everyone with her resilience and fundraising efforts.
Most recent, Dervla modelled in the cancer support group ARC Fashion Show, the biggest event of its kind in Ireland, which was held in the RDS over Easter.
She is now raising funds for ARC in the Parkrun, which takes place on April 20th at Naas Racecourse.
It is a 5km run, which Dervla herself will take part in.
"Our family unit got cancer, we were all affected...[the] rug pulled from beneath you", said Dervla on this morning's Kildare Today programme.
