Mayor of Freehold New Jersey, Kevin Kane and his delegation are in Kildare to progress the twinning with Rathangan.
Rathangan is the ancestral home to Bruce Springsteen, who visited Rathangan earlier this month.
In March, a seven-person delegation from Rathangan, Twinning Committee, were invited by Mayor Kane to attend the St Patrick's Weekend activities in Freehold New Jersey.
The Rathangan Twinning Association has invited Mayor Kane to Rathangan, where they will visit multiple sites in Rathangan and Kildare as well as progressing the formal twinning process with Kildare County Council.
