The town will have a population akin to Naas.
Almost 400 homes have been given the green light for Dublin's newest town.
The social, affordable and cost rental units will be the first phase of housing in Clonburris.
Construction is expected to begin early next year on two developments at the new Clonburris Strategic Development Zone, that sits between Lucan, Clondalkin and Liffey Valley.
The Grand Canal Extension and Kishogue schemes - that include 382 social, affordable purchase and cost rental homes - will be the first developed on council owned land at the new Dublin suburb, according to the Irish Times.
It comes after the government approved €186 million in funding for infrastructure for the new town that has the capacity to deliver almost nine thousand new homes for up to 23-thousand people - a population equivalent to Naas and Kilkenny city.
Last year, Cairn Homes lodged plans for 569 homes in the new suburb.
