It follows a roadside operation by Kildare Carlow Roads Policing Unit.
In a post on social media, Gardaí say the driver showed "complete disregard for road safety".
They drove through a light and were subsequently stopped by Gardaí.
They then failed a roadside breath test and were arrested on suspicion of drink driving and later found to be over the legal limit.
In addition, the offender had no driving licence, their vehicle was seized afterwards.
Gardaí highlighted the seriousness of the offence, urging drivers to never drink and drive:
"Drink driving puts innocent lives at risk. Running red lights puts lives at risk. Driving without a licence is illegal.
"There is no excuse. There is no justification. And there is no sympathy for decisions that put other road users in danger.
"The consequences are real. The risks are deadly. Make better choices," Gardaí concluded.
