It is expected that detailed design will take place in 2027 and construction will commence in 2028
A planning application has been submitted by Iarnród Éireann to Kildare County Council for an accessibility upgrade at Leixlip Louisa Bridge Station.
The proposed upgrade includes new lifts and a new bridge.
Some additional works are also planned include:
- New staircases on both platforms
- A new waiting shelter on Platform 2
- Ancillary works to facilitate the proposed development
It is part of Iarnród Éireann's ongoing Accessibility Programme and funded by the Department of Transport through the National Transport Authority.
Subject to planning approval, it is expected that detailed design will take place in 2027 and construction will commence in 2028, with an approximate build time of nine months.
