Six historic properties across Kildare are among the privately owned heritage sites opening to the public as part of National Heritage Week.
Six locations across Kildare are set to welcome visitors during National Heritage Week, which runs from Saturday, August 15th to Sunday, August 23rd.
The programme is being supported by Historic Houses of Ireland, with participating properties offering visitors an opportunity to explore buildings, estates, and gardens that form part of Kildare's architectural and cultural heritage.
Some privately owned properties will open specially for the week, including Kildrought House, while Lodge Park Steam Museum and Garden will host a dedicated Heritage Week event.
Other locations in Kildare open all week are Burtown House, Harristown House, Leixlip Castle, and Moyglare Glebe.
Historic Houses of Ireland says the initiative also highlights the work being carried out by private owners to preserve historic buildings, landscapes and natural habitats for future generations.
Nationally, almost 80 events involving members of the organisation are planned throughout the week.
