Met Éireann has issued a weather warning.
Westerly winds will reach mean speeds of up 65km/hr with gusts of up to 100 km/hr.
The warning is in place for Kildare until 11pm today.
Heavy rain will give way to surface water on roads and flooding in some parts.
Motorists have been advised to drive with care.
