Investigations are ongoing.
On Saturday, as a result of intelligence led investigations targeting firearm trafficking, officers attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Emergency Response Unit intercepted a vehicle shortly after 10am, in the Kildare area.
During the course of the search of this vehicle , one (1) M1911 Handgun, one (1) G3 Rifle and 40 rounds of ammunition were seized.
Three males aged 19, 20, 21 years were arrested in relation to possession of firearms and are currently detained at Garda Stations in Co. Kildare.
Investigations are ongoing.
