The funding was announced by TD Catherine Martin and TD Thomas Byrne
The second round of funding allocations under the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF) has been announced.
€173 million in grants for 35 projects across Ireland follows another funding announcement made today, with three being in Kildare.
The breakdown of funding for the projects in Kildare are as follows:
Sallins Community Park - €3 million for grass GAA pitch, multi-use grass pitch, two soccer grass pitches, all-weather multi-use pitch and MUGA.
Golf Ireland HP Centre - €1.4 million for the development of High Performance facilities for female and male national squads.
Cross-Community Development Project (Naas GAA) - €1 million for the construction of floodlights, gym and pitches. It is noted that it's an area of significant demand and population, and with this level of funding, the project could be phased.
The funding was announced by Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin TD, and the Minister of State for Sport, Physical Education and the Gaeltacht, Thomas Byrne TD.
This funding announcement follows on from another made today, in which 11 Kildare community centres were confirmed to receive €206,290 in funding, under the Community Centre Investment Fund.
