A Rathmore man has been charged
Two men charged over a €1.2 million euro drugs seizure in a "sophisticated operation" at a stable yard in Celbridge have been granted bail.
They appeared before Dublin District Court earlier, charged with possessing the drugs for sale or supply.
Gardaí discovered 16 kilograms of cocaine, valued at over a million euro, along with cannabis and heroin, during a search in Loughlinstown, Celbridge last Monday.
28 year old Ian Cullen, of Deansrath Road, Clondalkin, Dublin, who allegedly rented the property, and landscape gardener Barry Eustace, also 28, of Upper Punchestown, Rathmore, Naas, County Kildare, a cash-in-hand worker on the site, were arrested.
Gardaí told the court the defendants were allegedly trusted components in a well-organised, capable crime gang.
Defence for Mr. Cullen claimed there had been a "complete overreach" in the estimated of the value of the drugs and the strength of evidence.
Both men have been remanded in custody with consent to bail to appear at Cloverhill District Court on June 21st, for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
They must surrender passports; on release, they must sign on regularly at local garda stations, and have no contact with each other. Mr. Eustace also must obey a curfew.
