They appeared before Naas District Court this morning
The two men charged in connection with Tuesday's €5m cocaine seizure in Allenwood have been named.
Dutch man Willem Hols (61), and Anthony Coyne (56), appeared before Naas District Court this morning.
Hols arrived in Ireland one week ago, and is alleged to have been driving a van which concealed the drugs.
71 kilos of cocaine were found concealed in the van, with another kilo found in a follow-up search.
Hols was in the van during the garda operation.
No bail application was made, and Hols will reappear via video link on February 19.
Coyne was reported to have made no reply when charged in relation to the drugs seizure.
He wishes for a bail application made by his solicitor, however solicitor Aonghus McCarthy could not be in court until the afternoon.
The matter was then adjourned to Cloverhill to allow a bail application proceed tomorrow.
