Some seabirds impacted by a recent massive oil spill have been released.
In a video posted online, Kildare Wildlife Rescue said its a "happy day" for some of the birds who underwent treatment and monitoring.
An urgent response was launched earlier this month by Kildare Wildlife Rescue (KWR) following a significant oil spill along the coasts of Wexford, Wicklow, and Dublin.
Guillemots bore the brunt of the impact, with the spill understood to have originated near their breeding or feeding grounds.
Meanwhile, members of the public have been reminded to refrain from handling oiled birds due to the potential dangers posed by unknown and potentially carcinogenic substances.
Instead, all sightings should be reported to info@kwr.ie, accompanied by photos or videos, a Google Map pin, and a contact phone number.
