Weston Airport, located between Celbridge, Leixlip and Lucan, is closed after a fire broke out in a room close to the control tower last night.

The private airport says a full investigation into what caused the blaze is underway.
In a statement, the airport said: “Weston can confirm there was a small outbreak of fire in a room close to the Control Tower at 22:00 Tuesday night 24th September. The fire was brought under control by the Fire Service and there were no injuries.
“A full investigation into the cause of the fire will start in the morning. The Airport is closed Wednesday with all flights cancelled.”
