Gardai made the discovery in Lucan.
Two men have been arrested after the seizure of a loaded saw-off shotgun in Dublin.
The discovery was made at Ballyowen Road in Lucan at around 7.30pm yesterday evening after a vehicle was intercepted.
The men aged 22 and 41 have been arrested and are being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.
It was part of an investigation into organised crime in Dublin.
