The number of claims made to the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) decreased in the first six months of 2022.
The state body which assesses personal injury compensation has confirmed the receipt of almost 9,000 claims.
The number is a 34% reduction, compared o the same period in 2021.
Compensations figures have also decreased, with the average pay out now €14,786 - a 38% reduction since new guidelines were introduced in April 2021.
