Highest Number Of Home Completions In First Half Of Year Since 2011, Despite Q2 Decline

Over 16,600 homes were completed between January and June this year.

The number of homes completed in the first half of the year has increased by 11pc, compared to the same period last year.

That's despite a decline in the second quarter.

Over 16,600 homes were completed between January and June this year.

Minister for Housing James Browne says that's the highest number of completions in the first six months of the year since 2011.

There were more than 8,800 houses and apartments completed in April, May and June, a fall of 3.6pc.

CSO figures show there was a decline in the Dublin region of 16.4pc, while the Mid-West, saw a 13.9pc drop. 

More than a third of completions were in Dublin, with 19pc in the Mid-East region of Louth, Meath, Kildare, and Wicklow.

For Q2 2026, 75.5pc of apartment completions were in Dublin (2,006).

In Dublin City, 91.4% of completions were apartments.

The most scheme completions were in the Mid-East (Kildare, Louth, Meath, and Wicklow) region at 1,301 completions
