NATO countries, including Ireland, may be forced to step in with military support in the case of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

That's the warning from EU officials today following the announcement of conflict negotiations between US and Russian officials.

European leaders have not been invited to take part in the peace talks and will instead convene in Paris tomorrow to discuss their next step.
