The Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) will host a Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) event in Kildare next month, with Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon set to open the discussion.
Titled ‘CAP to 2030 & Beyond’, the event will take place at Kilashee Hotel, Naas, on May 13 at 7:30 p.m. and will focus on the future of CAP and the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
Key speakers include COPA-Cogeca CEO Elli Tsiforou, EU policy expert Tassos Haniotis, and IFA Brussels director Liam MacHale.
IFA president Francie Gorman highlighted growing geopolitical challenges and stressed the need for CAP to remain properly funded and focused on food production. He noted that Ireland’s EU presidency in late 2026 will be pivotal in shaping future CAP policies.
