It comes as a Kfm listener was sent an email from Kildare County Council asking for personal information
Over 300,000 names have been removed from electoral register in two years.
The Electoral Commission had previously said that there were more names on the register than there should be.
It comes as a Kfm listener was sent an email from Kildare County Council asking for personal information "to identify and fix any errors to ensure electors are clearly identified".
Speaking on Kildare Today, Public Affairs Manager for The Electoral Commission said that work was being done to "clean up our register".
"We've had this legacy in Ireland of our register being overpopulated, we've had people who moved away and people who have died. What we are doing and also local authorities working with the Department of Housing are doing is undertaking a significant project to clean up our register."
