The pair will have private talks around 10 o’clock this morning
The Taoiseach is travelling to Manchester to meet with the British Prime Minister.
The pair will have private talks around 10 o’clock this morning, before engaging in a number of bi-lateral meetings.
Michael Martin has met Andy Burnham on a number of occasions in his previous occupation as the Mayor of Manchester.
However this will be the first time they meet as heads of government.
The meeting will be held in Number 10 North - the Manchester equivalent of Downing Street with the Taoiseach’s visit marking the first international engagement to be held there.
It’s understood the Taoiseach is going to raise the issue of legacy - and the work that still needs to be done, in both jurisdictions.
