Gardaí are continuing to search a house in Dundalk as part of the investigation into Kyran's disappearance.
Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, has released a statement clarifying its involvement with the family of Kyran Durnin.
The agency confirmed that Kyran was not under its care but acknowledged that it had engaged with him and his family prior to recent events.
In August 2024, Tusla alerted An Garda Síochána regarding significant concerns about Kyran’s wellbeing.
Since that time, the agency said it has maintained close cooperation with Garda authorities, sharing all relevant information as per standard procedure.
Tusla also indicated that a notification has been sent to The National Review Panel (NRP), an independent body responsible for reviewing serious incidents involving children either in care or known to the agency.
In addition, Tusla has initiated an internal review to assess its interactions and engagements with Kyran and his family.
However, due to the ongoing Garda investigation, the agency has stated that it will refrain from further comments at this time.
