Three Kildare Schools blitz
On Thursday June 8th, Halverstown Cricket Club will be hosting what, according to the club, is probably the biggest “Cricket Blitz” ever to take place in county Kildare.
Three schools from the Kilcullen locality, Scoil Bhríde, Kilcullen, Brannockstown National School and St. Joseph’s National School, Halverstown will all be taking part between 10.00 am and 12.30 pm.
This is a culmination of weeks of coaching that has been taking place in the schools, spear-headed by Stuart Conroy, Honorary Secretary of Halverstown Cricket Club.
It is expected that over 200 children will be there to demonstrate their new-found skills in competition against other classes and other schools.
This new initiative has been funded by Kildare Sports Partnership, in conjunction with Cricket Leinster and Halverstown Cricket Club and is part of a continuing drive to re-establish cricket’s appeal and popularity in north Kildare.
