LADIES FOOTBALL

The date and time has been confirmed for Kildare Ladies All Ireland Intermediate football semi final.

The game against Wexford has been fixed for Parnell Park at 4pm on July 23rd.

 Kildare holds its Under 17 League finals on Sunday.

 Div 1. Maynooth v Kilcullen   4.45pm.

Div 2. Balyna v Celbridge  3pm in Johnstownbridge Gaa club.

Divisions 2 to 7 In Leixlip GAA Gleneaston pitches.

RUGBY

The World U20 Rugby World Cup final takes place this evening South Africa at 6pm Irish time.

Ireland play France and four Kildare players are featuring.

Suncroft’s Sam Prendergast at out-half; Naas’s Andrew Osborne and Wicklow’s Oscar Cawley, who plays with Naas RFC, and Diarmuid Mangan from Sallins.

 

SOCCER

Both Derry City and Dundalk played out scoreless draws in the Conference League last night.

Derry finished level with HB Torshavn in the Faroe Islands, with Dundalk holding Bruno's Magpies in Gibraltar.

The return games are in Ireland next Thursday.

In the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division tonight, Shelbourne host Bohemians in a Dublin derby at Tolka Park, with UCD welcoming Drogheda United to Belfield.

Both matches kick off at 7.45.


TENNIS

It's men's semi finals day at Wimbledon.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic meets Jannick Sinner, and top seed Carlos Alcaraz plays Daniil Medvedev.

Play begins on centre court at 1.30.
 

 

GOLF

Rory McIlroy heads the Irish challenge on 6 under par with day two of the Scottish Open now underway at the Renaissance Club.

Ben An of Korea leads on 9 under.

Padraig Harrington is one of the early starters and remains 3 under.

Tom McKibbin is level par and Shane Lowry is 1 over.


CYCLING

Jonas Vingegaard's grip on the yellow jersey could come under threat during today's 13th stage of the Tour de France.

The stage finishes with the climb up the Grand Colombier.

Vingegaard has a 17-second lead over Tadej Pogacar.


HORSE RACING

A seven race jumps card at Cork begins at 4.40.

There are also seven races over jumps at Kilbeggan from 5pm.
