Defeat for Kildare against Armagh; Arsenal win again.

GAA

The Kildare senior footballers suffered their third defeat in Division 1 of the Allianz National Football League on Saturday night, losing 1-12 to 0-10 points against Armagh at the Athletic Grounds.

The Lillies were well in the game at half time, trailing by a single point, but their opponents kicked on in the second period, and Kildare only managed to register a further 4 points.

Next up is a home game against Monaghan next Sunday, as part of a double header with the hurlers who play Westmeath.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says he's not getting ahead of himself in the race for Champions League football.

A 2-0 victory over Leicester yesterday means the Gunners are back into fourth in the Premier League.

Arteta says their goal is a place in Europe's top competition - but that's not for them to think about at this stage.

Elsewhere, Leeds had their first win under Jesse Marsch with a 2-1 defeat of bottom side Norwich.

Everton's poor form continued with a 1-0 loss to Wolves, while West Ham beat Aston Villa 2-1 and Watford were 2-1 winners at Southampton.

A late Kai Havertz effort for Chelsea earned Thomas Tuchel's men a 1-0 win over in-form Newcastle.

Shane Lowry's hole-in-one on the iconic par-three 17th at Sawgrass was the highlight of last night's action at the Players Championship.

The ace helped Lowry move to within four shots of the lead on five-under-par before play was suspended due to darkness.

The Offaly native still has four holes of his third round to play.

Seamus Power is three-under overall with five to play, while Rory McIlroy is three-over after nine.

Anirban Lahiri heads the field on nine-under-par.

The seven-time Superbowl-winning quarterback is to come back just six weeks after announcing his decision to step away from the game.
