Mona McSharry will return to the pool in the next half an hour for her semi-final in the 100-metres breaststroke at the World Aquatics Championships in Japan.

The Sligo swimmer broke the Irish record in her heat this morning with a time of 1-minute five-point-55 seconds .

McSharry's time has also secured her place at next year's Olympics.
